My album should be dropping soon...

Now that classes are done, I am able to focus again on my other projects. Normally these include things like decorating and organizing our home, attempting to get more exercise and stick to my diet, planning our trips for the holidays, and any other little things that might pop up. However, now I am ready to take on the project that I have been waiting several months for...our wedding album. From the beginning I knew that I wanted to create my own wedding album, and was fortunate enough to find a great photographer that allowed me to have the rights to my photos. So, for the past several weeks I have been investigating different sites that would allow me to do this. I've already created photobooks through sites like Shutterfly, like the guest sign in book that I created for our wedding. However, for the wedding album I wanted something that looked a little bit more professional with heavier paper that would give me a little bit more artistic license on what I wanted to create. Why have I waited so long you might ask? Well, in all honesty, I needed a break from "all things wedding". After 7 months of planning it was time for a little hiatus, but now I am ready to tackle this project!

I finally decided to go with Blurb.com, it's an amazing publishing site that allows you to create any type of book you want. A big selling point for me was their hardcover image wrap which I though might look pretty cool. Their prices are very reasonable and they are flexible in terms of what I want to create, I can even swap our wedding logo for for theirs. Best part, once the book is finished I can send an announcement to friends and family that the book is available at our personal "blurb store" for ordering, in case anyone else would like a copy. However, Mango and I are already planning on giving our parents smaller "parent albums" as gifts, so, shhhhhh! don't tell!

Now that I've decided on the site, the arduous task of picking the photos is next. We have over 2500 photos to choose from, so I'm thinking this might take me a little while, but I'm hoping to be done by December. My sister was kind enough to lend me her copy of Adobe Photoshop so that I can edit photos much like a professional would and create fun effects. As of right now, I am in the process of learning how to use the program and reading everything I can that will help me learn, like the tutorials on The Pioneer Woman...gotta love that lady. I can't wait to get started! I foresee many long nights and frustrated rants coming from the home office when efforts get a little thwarted, but I'm happy none the less.

If anyone reading this has any tips they could pass along, feel free!
