Hung Out With Florence Last Night!

My sister and I went to the Florence + The Machine concert last night! It was awesome! She's amazing, gorgeous, totally epic. That voice gives me chills every time. If you can catch her show I highly recommend you check it out!

Settle Down

Happy Friday!

This weekend the hubs and I are off on a little getaway to one of our favorite hotels here in Florida, mainly because it has a lazy river where I can float on my tube with a bright tropical drink in one hand and my book in another. I'm easy to please, what can I say? You had me at "lazy river". 

Yesterday this came on the radio while I was driving home...

I have this song on repeat today, perhaps because I'm a sucker for a good love song. It's the gorgeous Nikki Reed and her husband Paul McDonald, or as my sister said, "Aw! Rosalie married the guy from American Idol!".

Moves...

I always thought Mick Jagger's dance moves were insanely cool, so needless to say this is my favorite song right now. It's got me singing out loud in the car and practicing my "Jagger moves".

 In the spirit of Mr. Jagger, here's a little ensemble I put together styled around your favorite Rolling Stone's tee. Paired with dark denim, a serious arm party, and lot's of red!

Hello weekend!

Lots to do this weekend, and unfortunately most of it is work, but since it's work I like doing that's not so bad right? I made the macarons this past Wednesday! They've been awaiting me in the refrigerator since they have to sit for at least two days before they're ready, so they'll be a nice little treat to start off the weekend today. I can't wait to post some photos and show you guys how they turned out!

Lately one of my favorite songs on the radio is Katy Perry's "E.T.", I especially love the video. She's like this crazy looking alien princess with an awesome hair and makeup team...love it.

My sister showed me this awesome acoustic version of the song this week, I can't stop listening to it...

Music: Nouvelle Vague

I've been listening to Nouvelle Vague for the past couple of weeks, I love their easy going sound. I find myself playing them throughout the work day or even while I'm at home cooking. The first song is one of my favorites, but I also love their version of well known songs like "Come On Eileen" and "Dancing With Myself".

My mom sent me this video today in honor of the chilly weather we've been having this week. It's one of my favorite winter songs, always puts a smile on my face ;-)

This weekend I'm looking forward to spending time at home cuddling on the sofa with the hubs and catching up on our DVR. After a week away, a little bit of home-time is just what the doctor ordered.

Peace Out Friday

This weekend kicks off my 2 weeks of freedom before classes begin again and I plan spending it on plenty of date-nights with the hubs, catching up on episodes of Project Runway, and working on much needed projects around the house...Spring cleaning here I come!

I have this song in my head today, perfect for a chilly Monday morning don't you think?

Gaga Oooh La La...

I just received the January issue of Elle over the weekend and I am in love with Lady Gaga's editorial spread. As always...so cool.

So what do you think? Style icon that future generations will be referring to along with the likes of David Bowie and Madonna?

Personally, I think her Bad Romance video clinched her spot as a style icon. We might not get it from time to time, but the woman is definitely fun to watch.

In New York!

This morning I heard Alicia Keys' version of Empire State of Mind. She rewrote some of the lyrics and the song is absolutely beautiful. It's amazing how talented this girl is.
