What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday: Frye Boots and a Shopbop Giveaway!

It's that time of year again where all I can think about are boots! Knee high boots, ankle boots, slouchy boots, and yes, even those adorable wellies get me every time. My husband doesn't quite understand why I obsess over so many kinds of boots. Like jeans, each style has it's particular place in your wardrobe, therefore...a girl needs one of each right?

A pair that I think needs a home in my closet are these Vera boots. I've always loved Frye boots, they're always gorgeously made and classic.
The Man Repeller rocked these Eskimo Clog Booties from Belle by Sigerson Morrison. They're not for the faint of heart, but I think they're awesome. Certainly not a pair that you would commonly see clogging around everywhere.
And how awesome are these boots with the long cuff? I love the sleek look of wedge boots, it's kind of unexpected.

So in honor of the love of boots and let's face it, shopping, I am happy to announce a Shopbop giveaway!

The winner of the giveaway will win a $100 gift card to Shopbop to spend on whatever they would like!!!!

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday...

Over the weekend I bought my first trench while on our girls mini-vacay. I've always wanted a classic trench coat and this weekend I found one that fit perfectly and in budget. I skipped all the way back to the hotel beyond thrilled. It's awesome when you find that piece you've been looking for and most of the time it happens when you least expect it. As the fates would have it, it's miserable and rainy outside, and it looks like it's going to be that way for the rest of the week. Perfect trench weather I think ;-)

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday...

I saw this sweater in the window at Ann Taylor and fell in love. It reminds me of this gorgeous Stella McCartney sweater from a few seasons ago:
It's lighter than the Stella sweater and slightly sheer, which I don't mind since I live in Florida, but the big bold stripes and colors are so perfect.
Definitely one of my must haves for Fall!

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday

I might be the last person in the world to have known about this, but over the weekend I was reading the September issue of Lucky and practically starting jumping up and down on the sofa when I saw that J Crew finally released it's own shade of their oh-so-gorgeous red lipstick that I've loved seeing on their models. Created by Poppy King, it's described as the perfect coral red and sells for $18. Such a pretty red, I crossing my fingers and hoping it works with my skin tone so that I can add this to my makeup arsenal this fall.

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday

Summer weddings are romantic and pretty, and hot! Next weekend our friends are finally getting married after a long two year engagement and we couldn't be happier for them. I'm actually more preoccupied with I'm going to do with my hair than what I'm going to wear. Last thing I want is to show up in the wedding photos with a hot frizzy mess on my head, so I think my best bet is to put it up in something simple but pretty.

I'm thinking of going with one of these three updo's depending on what kind of dress I end up wearing:
The classic ballerina bun is always a winner the humid summer weather. I really like this one because it creates a sleeker and bigger bun on the top of your head rather than the tighter version.
This soft, twisted updo is so pretty too. It looks complicated, but the tutorial shows that it's actually really easy. The softer look could work really nicely with a flowy dress.
This chestnut bun is the perfect compromise between the two, a nice bun to pull my hair back on a humid day but still soft.

Now to figure out what to wear!

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday...

We planned a little getaway weekend that's coming up soon and I'm so excited that all I can do every morning is announce to my husband how many days are left. It will be just the two of us lounging by the pool getting our tan on...that's my kind of weekend.

So naturally, since I'm so freakin' excited, I've already starting thinking about what I'm going to pack. I'm feeling bright colors and fun prints in relaxed silhouettes for this trip inspired by this editorial in Lucky:
I think the combinations of colors and prints is so pretty and perfect for a mini summer vacay. These are four items that I know will definitely be going in my suit case:
Jcrew Packing
Over the weekend I popped by JCrew and they were having an awesome sale. I found the Beatrice blouse that I had been admiring ever since I first saw it in the catalogue. Online it's on sale for $98, but I got it in the store for $39.99! And I fell head-over-heels in love with the tomato red shorts! I've never had shorts in such a bright color...I think my obsession with coral is the culprit. The striped dress (swoon!) was a gift from my mom for my graduation this past weekend. Oh how I love it! I will definitely be wearing it to dinner. Of course my trusty panama hat will be with me at all times, it goes with everything and is awesome at shielding my face from the sun.

Lastly, I also found something that was a bit out of my comfort zone, but when I saw them in person and tried them on, I loved them...
Yes, I bought Ikat print pants! When it comes to prints I usually stick to wearing them as a top or a dress, so a printed pant is not the norm for me, but I couldn't help but picture them paired with these...

What do you think? I think it could work, or am I ikat nuts?

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday

Pink is always one of my favorite colors to wear in the summer, it's so girly and light!
I love how Zina from Fashion Vibe put her own little spin on pink by combining it with a darker, rustier tone and keeping everything else minimal.

Living in South Florida I have come to appreciate light tops to help battle the constant heat, so I absolutely love this chiffon cami paired with a light rose pleated skirt. I would wear it with the cami tucked into the skirt, and of course accessorize it with a similiar belt and nude flats like Zina did. I added a brown satchel-style purse, tortise shell sunglasses, and simple jewelry to finish it up. I vote for a pretty top knot bun with with look, a nice touch for the summer heat!

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday...

I love this outfit Kendi put together, it's exactly the kind of clothing that I'm drawn to lately: feminine and simple with a modern twist. The combination of the pink and blue is so pretty too, the moment I saw this post I headed over to Modcloth to see if the blouse was still available and sadly it's sold out...bummer. Modcloth if you're reading this, please bring this gorgeous little top back would ya? Pretty please!

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday...

Skirts for Spring are a must and lately I've been loving the look of pretty, flowy accordion skirts especially in soft sorbet shades.

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday

My usual color choice when it comes to purses is usually black or brown, not exactly the most exciting colors. Today I'm inspired by the lovely bright orange purses in these images, especially the body cross style. Such a wonderful pop of color! Since this look demands a powerful orange, I love the way these ladies paired it with neutral pieces like khaki and denim. How gorgeous is Olivia's look for Tibi? Love her style.

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday...

"Where should one use perfume?" a young woman asked. "Wherever one wants to be kissed" I said. ~ Coco Chanel

This quote makes me smile, mainly because the idea of it is so romantic. Coco Chanel had a way with words didn't she?

I absolutely love perfume, if it were up to me I would have a place to display all of my perfumes in their pretty bottles much like how others display their jewelry. Most people prefer to stick with one signature fragrance, I tried it, but couldn't stick with it, instead I tend to wear perfume based on the mood I'm in. Now that Spring has arrived, I'm putting away my woody and rich Fall/Winter perfumes and bringing out my sunny and floral Spring/Summer fragrances! Last year my husband bought me the Idol d'Armani perfume and I just can't seem to get enough of it...
I'm also loving the new fragrances that have been released this Spring. I can't wait to head over to my local Sephora and give them a try...

Notes of: Pink Peony, Freesia, Lychee, Magnolia Flower, Lily of the Valley, Rose, Cedarwood, Amber, and Honey

The limited edition Chloe Rosebud by Chloe. The bottle is so pretty and I love the pink ribbon tied around the top.

Notes of: Mandarin, Lily, Rose, Musk, and White Wood

I've always been a fan of the original fragrance, but L'Eau d'Issey Florale has a lighter, simpler scent which is perfect for Spring and Summer.

Notes of: Natural Raspberry, Grapefruit, Pear, Violet, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom, Musks, Cedarwood, and Plum

The bottle of the Daisy Marc Jacobs fragrance is beyond adorable (can you tell bottles are a big deal for me?). This one has a much more fruity scent compared to the florals of the other two, perfect for everyday.

What is your favorite fragrance for Spring and Summer?

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday...

Today I'm loving these pretty spring looks from the Smyth Les Vestes Spring 2011 Lookbook. Their clothes are so effortless and feminine. I'm even inspired by the easy-going hair styles that they paired with their clothes, perfect for the warm weather...

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday

Now that Spring has arrived I find myself looking for pretty ways fix my hair and keep it out of my face as the heat sets in. Perhaps instead of simply pinning back my bangs like I usually do, I really like how Jane added a braid to her hair...
If I'm really having a bad hair day, a high bun is usually my go-to option. This week Joanna posted another great hair tutorial which featured a different take on the top bun...
I love how they braided the classic top bun, so adorable.
What's your go-to hair option in the Spring and Summer?

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday

I love Justine Restoin-Roitfeld's combination of a girly teal blouse paired with a camel leather skirt and leopard heels. Such a simple combination and yet so eye catching. Let's take a moment to also appreciate Carine's killer heels...that woman always has such amazing shoes.

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday

Zara is one of my top favorite shopping spots. Their clothes are beautiful and simple, well made, and best of all...affordable. The new March 2011 lookbook as me antsy to get to the store as soon as possible to stock up on jewel colored pants and shorts, flowy tops, and feme-fatal pumps...
I love how they paired the clothes with a simple ballerina bun and hot pink lipstick.

What I Feel Like Wearing Tuesday

Amy Adams was my favorite on Oscars night. I loved the way she played with and layered on such bold colors. The deep blue dress, emerald green from the accessories, all combined with her gorgeous red hair was beautiful. When she walked out on stage for a moment her dress turned into a dark navy. For a Spring/Summer look, I think she's a wonderful inspiration on how to combine such strong punches of color.

I can imagine wearing this on a sunny day meeting friends or even running errands. The combination of colors makes me smile ;-)
