Been Working on a Little Something...

I know. Weeks have passed since my last post, for all you guys know I have fallen off the face of the Earth or worse, become one of Miley's backup dancers (still scratching my head on that one), but no worries friends, all is good in the land of Mangonett.

Very good in fact, because since my last post, this little bundle of joy came into our lives...
Say hello to Baby Mango! I'm officially 12 weeks today and growing. Maternity pants have been ordered since my regular ones can no longer contain my growing belly. I'm always sleepy and chocolate milk is my manna from heaven. We're both thrilled about the little one on the way! I'm due in March, which seems to be coming up pretty fast.

Now that the baby is on the way, it's moved up our timeline for house projects. I promise that since my last post I've been busy, busy with projects around the house that I can't wait to share with you. So now that I starting to regain my energy, it's time to get moving and start getting the house ready for baby!

I hope all is well with you all!

Lots of love,
Mangonett

Signing Off

Image by Angelo Pennetta via FGR

2013 is almost here and I can't help but smile at all of the amazing things 2012 brought us and all of the great things still to come. Tomorrow we are heading off to St. Augustine for a little family reunion to close out the rest of 2012 and welcome 2013. I've spent this past week returning emails, cleaning up my desk, and finishing up last minute details before it's time to head out.

I wish you all lots of love and hugs! Thank you for spending 2012 with me and I look forward to starting a bright 2013 with you all. Best wishes!

Love,
Mangonett

P.S.
While I'm away, I'll still be posting on Instagram (@mangogal) and Twitter (@mangogal). Make sure to follow me!

As 2011 Comes to a Close...

Thank you all for the kind words about Brandy! Your comments and thoughts put a smile on our faces.

2011 was full of milestones and amazing memories, it's unbelievable how quickly it went by. I'm looking forward to seeing what 2012 has in store for us. Since the year is coming to a close Tony and I have been talking a lot about what our battle plan for 2012 will be and I'm excited for things to come. The same goes for the business venture, Rubber Boots Photography, that my sister and I started in February. In a little over 2 months it will be 1 year since we started the business and 2012 looks like it's going to be an exciting year for us! In regards to the blog, I'm looking forward to making a few changes and making some fun updates. I hope you like them ;-)

We'll be traveling over the next few weeks visiting family. Thank you all for an amazing year and I wish you an even better 2012!

See you next year!

Love,
Christine

Swing of Things

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. We did so much relaxing this weekend that its taking me a little bit more effort than I would like to get back into the swing of things. If it were up to me I'd be hanging out on the beach with my flip-flops and favorite summer dress like this happy lady right here. I guess that's the only bummer of long weekends right? They just don't seem to be long enough.

To celebrate Spring I plan on spending lots of time outside this weekend, mostly enjoying the sunshine and working on reclaiming my tan ;-)

Early Spring

Living in Florida you tend to feel Spring and Summer arriving a bit earlier than the rest of the country. Last weekend we ventured out to one of our favorite beaches since the weather was warm and breezy. I have a feeling we'll be doing the same this weekend. I'm excited for the arrival of Spring, it makes me want to get out and fix up my garden, clean the house from top to bottom, and start digging back into my collection of flowy dresses and tank tops.

The past couple of weeks have been crazy, which is the reason why I haven't been able to post as much as I would like. I'm currently working on a huge project that I'm hoping to have finished by the end of the month, and I am beyond excited about it. As soon as it's finished I promise I'll post about it. Right now I'm exhausted, but feeling really good about how productive the past couple of weeks have been.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hopping Weekend

It might be a full moon, El Nino, or maybe all the planets have aligned, but this weekend is going to be super busy. This is a rarity, usually I have maybe one or two things planned, max, and the hubs and I spend the rest of the weekend floating lazily about (my kind of weekend). However, this weekend is going to be "hopping", as my aunt loves to say.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm actually looking forward to it. Bring on the fun!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone! And Happy Superbowl!

Speaking of the Superbowl, check out this sneak peak of the Superbowl ad for Volkswagen. I've watched it twice already, so adorable. I used to do the same thing as a kid...except I was dressed as a princess and used a wand:

Make Up Your Mind to be Happy...

"Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be" ~ Abraham Lincoln

This week has gone by so quick, in fact the whole month has, but I don't mind because I'm happy. I'm happy because so many great things are happening, which is probably why it feels like the days are flying past. A huge venture is on the horizon that I am so excited to share with all of you! I've been working on it day and night to get it just right, but I'll share the news soon, I promise!

This February there will be a brand new feature to the blog that I am so excited about. Some fun collaborations that I hope you will enjoy!

It's Day 11 of P90x and I am proud to say that we have stuck with it and working out everyday. This is a big deal for someone with a short attention span and aversion to exercise like myself. 11 days down and 79 more to go...yikes.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone! Until Monday!

A Kaleidoscope of New Possibilities...

"At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities." - Jean Houston
It's time for the weekend again! And since it's a three day weekend, I'm going to spend some extra time enjoying those new possibilities and maybe even capturing them with my new camera. So, have a wonderful weekend, laugh often, and take hold of that kaleidoscope of new possibilities!

First Rate

Happy Friday!

I'm so glad it's the weekend. This first week back has been brutal. It's amazing how after only 2 weeks of waking up whenever I pleased and not following routine I am completely out of wack, but after this week of trying to get back in my routine, I think I'm OK....we'll see...I need a nap. In any case, I think this quote from the lovely Judy Garland is a wonderful mantra for today. Always be yourself, even if my current self is terribly sleepy.

Next week I'll be introducing a brand new feature! I'm so excited about it and can't wait for you all to see it. Lot's of photos on the way of our trip too.

Have a wonderful weekend!

A Going On...

"Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us"
- Hal Borland

Today is officially my last work day before I start my winter break!
2010 will be coming to a close in just a few short weeks, another year has gone by and I am excited to see what 2011 has in store for us.
For the next two weeks the hubs and I will be traveling, visiting family, and trying to soak in as much wintry-goodness as we can...living in Florida, cold weather is actually a big deal for us ;-)
So, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for another amazing year in the blogosphere. I enjoyed all of your comments and Tweets about blog posts you've enjoyed. I've loved reading so many of my favorite inspiring blogs and finding new ones.

Best wishes and lots of hugs! See you in 2011!
Love,
Mangonett

Back Home!

We're back from vacation and I am so happy to be home!
It's amazing how you miss the little things like your own cozy bed, the sounds of your house when everything is quiet, and...
technology! After a full week of being completely disconnected from the world, I am beyond elated to stretch out my fingers and see what's been happening.
Besides, what better day to start catching up than on Cyber Monday?
Today I will be spending it catching up on a rather staggering amount of e-mails and blog posts throughout the blogosphere, as well as clicking through Cyber Monday deals.
Lot's a photos and fun blog posts to come this week!
Oh yeah, and somewhere in there I need to finish unpacking...darn it.

Heaven Under Foot...

"Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads"
- Henry David Thoreau

This weekend the hubs and I are planning on relaxing by spending an afternoon laying on the beach, catching up on our DVR, and trying out some new Fall recipes.

Have a fabulous weekend and see you on Monday!

Experience the Mysterious According to Einstein...

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all art and science" - Albert Einstein

Another week is finished and I am proud to say that it has been a productive one. Now that school is finally finished one would think that it is time to kick back and relax, but the reality is that I am now preoccupied with planning the next chapter in my life. The open ended question of "Where do I go from here?" has been on my mind a lot and I'm happy to say that I am excited by the possibilities. Good news is, my husband and family has been beyond supportive, what more can a girl ask for right?

The weather has been beautiful thanks to Fall kicking in full force. Fall is South Florida is sort of like Summer, only there's no humidity, it's breezy, and the days are getting shorter, making it a prime time to start those outdoor activities and projects.

This weekend we're planning on visiting the local nursery to find some new blooms to plant in our front yard and sunning at the beach with some PB&J sandwiches. I'm hoping we can go in the afternoon when the beach is opened up to the local dogs and their owners. It is beyond funny to see them running around and playing in the water.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy October!

Bring on the cooler weather, pumpkins and squashes for yummy recipes, and the aisles of wonderful candy. In case you are wondering, yes, that is a cake made of marshmallows, Reese's peanut butter cups, and smore Pop tarts. I think it's right up there with the Louboutins.

Have a great weekend!

Monday Balloons

Happy Monday lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Mango and I just got back from our trip last night and I am currently attempting to get back into our regular routine. I promise I'll be posting photos soon of our trip to Asheville, there are so many things I want to share! Especially this amazing store filled all of these gorgeous chairs that I was obsessing over and my favorite little shopping find. Until then, I will be swamped in e-mails and laundry...awesome.

Mangonett

A Letter...

Dear Mango,

Thank you so much for surprising me with this yesterday. Our old one used to burn my legs as it over heated on my lap and it made an odd creaky noise. I can now do my homework and blog away with an oh, so beautiful laptop while you sit beside me on the sofa. You are such a wonderful husband, thank you for being so thoughtful.

Love you babes,
Mangonett

Hello there...

Hello lovelies!

Please forgive me for my absence this week. It's been a whirlwind of school and work deadlines combined with house guests and a pinch late nights keeping me from my beloved blog posts. I promise that next week I'll be back to my regular posting.

According to the weather dude, this weekend is supposed to be absolutely beautiful, perfect for hitting the beach and working on your tan, and that is exactly what I plan on doing.

Some of my favorites of the week:

*Glee's Madonna-centric episode and their version of "Express Yourself"
* Garance's love of Paris
* Erica's heartwarming ode to her sister Darby
* This adorable e-session
* A pretty little dress
* The torsade necklace

Have a fabulous weekend everyone! Until Monday!

Love,
Mangonett
