My and iPhone This Weekend...

This morning my husband and I were at our local Best Buy front and center for our appointments to pick up our new iPhones. That's right, I finally have a smart phone again! Ever since I lost my android last April to a rogue wave at the beach I've been using one of my dad's old back up phones waiting in anticipation for the new iPhone to come out. After having it for just a few hours, I have a feeling this comic is pretty spot on with how Tony and I are going to be all weekend. 

Did you get the new iPhone? How do you like it? This is my first one so I'm interested to see what iPhone users think of the new version.

This Weekend...

A couple weeks ago I bought a Gilt City promotion for an afternoon at a local resort down in Miami that included a beach cabana and a rather nice food credit. We finally headed down there on Saturday to use it and it was so relaxing. Turns out Tony and I are not much for cocktails, so we spent most of the time ordering the smoothies (pink guava please) and noshing on their lobster lunch. The Mediterranean pasta salad on the side was so yummy, I'm already trying to find a recipe online so that I can make it at home. It was such a nice afternoon! Sometimes those deals are so great for discovering little local gems you didn't even know about.

Happy Friday!

Any big plans for the weekend? Did any of you stay up late last night to order the iPhone? We were tempted, but we're going to wait so that we can use a credit in-store that we've been sitting on just for the new iPhone. I can't wait to finally get my hands on it! So excited! 

This weekend is going to be low-key. Hopefully the rain will hold out and we'll get a little bit of beach time in and take Jack to the doggie park on Sunday. Turns out he's quite the little social butterfly.

Weekend Photo Diary: Orlando Getaway

We're back from our three day weekend getaway in Orlando! I'm feeling totally relaxed and ready to take on the week thanks to a couple naps and non-stop laps around the lazy river. This weekend I purposely left my camera at home so that I could just soak in everything around me, but I couldn't help taking a few snaps of our trip a la' Instagram..

As you can see swimming and eating took up most of our day, that's my kind of vacation!

This weekend the hubs and I are off on a little getaway to one of our favorite hotels here in Florida, mainly because it has a lazy river where I can float on my tube with a bright tropical drink in one hand and my book in another. I'm easy to please, what can I say? You had me at "lazy river".

How cute is this GIF? That is totally Tony and I, except it's usually the other way around. I'm the one that likes to start laughing at inappropriate moments and he just gives me the "oh no, not now" look. Isn't that one of the perks of married life though? To embarrass the other one with our weirdo quirks? No? Oh well.

This Weekend...

This weekend was non-stop and filled with special moments that I was so happy to be a part of. On Saturday we photographed this amazing couple on their wedding day...

We grew so fond of them over the past year that we were soooo happy to see them tie the knot. On Sunday my sister went to see our one month old baby cousin and snapped this photo of her cute little baby toes...

And each morning I wake up, give my husband a big kiss and spend the quiet moments before the day begins snuggling with this lovely little pup...

He's become quite accustomed to lounging on the bed...

that's ok though, waking up to that little nose makes my day.

This Weekend...

Good morning! I  hope you had a wonderful long weekend!

On Friday we drove down to Key West to elope with one of our awesome couples! They were originally planning to tie the knot in November, then a few weeks ago I received a phone call from the bride saying that they decided to elope to Key West with just their parents and siblings. Best part is, they asked us to go with them and photograph the whole thing! The weekend was a blast, especially seeing two people in love say "I Do!", I never tire of it. Here's a sneak peek video that we put together from the weekend...

We were home the next afternoon and spent the rest of the weekend lounging around the house and enjoying BBQ with the family. All-in-all it was a pretty awesome weekend!

I'm Here!

Hello lovelies! Sorry for the radio silence over the past week. Truth is that it has been ca-razy over here, seems like one thing after another, and unfortunately it has left me with little time to post all the happenings here on the blog. 

This past weekend we celebrated my parents 30th (!) anniversary with a quiet dinner at one of their favorite restaurants with the grandparents, which each have an impressive 55+ years of marriage themselves.Tony and I are about to hit the 5 year mark this January, it was pretty amazing to be in the company of couples talking about their marriages of so many years. 

My sister bought these little wooden figures and I painted them the best I could to match what they looked like on their wedding day, I can't help but giggle when I look at them. 

Jack is getting huge. Last weekend he weighed in at just under 17 pounds, when he entered our lives he was just a wee 7 pounds. Little guys has already gained 10 pounds in a little over a month!

He's starting training classes in two weeks, Tony is already trying to put him ahead of the class by teaching him to sit, "lay down" isn't working as well, he prefers to do some sort of "jazz hands" thing. Oh well.

Right now I'm obsessed with reading these two books...

I read about Mom Inc. on Oh Joy and placed my order right away. We're not planning on having kids right now, but the idea of reading a book filled with real-life experiences of women who balance running their own businesses and being a mom sounded like a good idea. Rubber Boots Photography is my dream and the good thing is that I'm getting busier and busier with it, so I figured I'd be proactive and start doing my homework now. Which brings me to my other read, the brilliant Elizabeth Messina's new book "The Luminous Portrait". I've always loved her work, it's so ethereal, and in her book she writes about how she approaches her art, so naturally I haven't put this baby down. 

This weekend we're heading to the Keys to photograph these two lovely people saying "I Do"...

Did you hear? Nate Berkus announced his new home collection for Target...

I'm already loving the few items that you get a glimpse of in the video, can't wait to see the rest of the collection in October. 

This weekend is turning out to be an exciting one!

 The Avengers opens this weekend! I have been waiting for what seems like forever for this movie to open, I'm a huge fan of superhero movies, to the point that my husband looks at me funny when I start screaming "yeah baby!" and fist pumping in excitement...

and on Saturday I can quench my obsession with margaritas all day thanks to Cinco de Mayo. Perhaps I'll even make shrimp tacos a'la Gwyneth to go with the margaritas.

This Weekend...

Another stay at home weekend is in store for us and I couldn't be more excited. This weekend we're going to head on over to the local Home Depot and work on our back patio. Before Jack we never really went out there too much, but now we're spending more time in the back since we've been letting Jack use the patio as his own little playground. We're not planning on over-hauling it too much, just cleaning it up and adding some mulch, perhaps a few new flowers here and there to spruce things up. He loves to sit in the little clusters of palm trees in the corner and chew on the fallen palms...all natural chew toys!

This weekend we have...no plans! Ahhh! That sounds nice. I foresee lots of cooking, hanging out in the front yard while Jack plays, and movie marathons while it rains (apparently we're in for a rainy weekend).

It's Friday...

You said it Haymitch!

Anyone else as excited as I am to see the Hunger Games this weekend? We won't be able to see it until Sunday, but I am going crazy over here listening to all the raving reviews from everyone who's seen it so far. 

Also on the list this weekend, I'm starting my annual Spring cleaning thanks to the help of this fine lady and her book, which is exactly as the title implies, a handbook:

She means business when it comes to Spring cleaning, check out her checklist here. Martha would probably get this all done in a weekend, but since I am not a superhero I will break it up over several weekends. My goal is to be done by mid to the end of April. I'm actually looking forward to it. Lately I've been getting a growing urge to go through the house room by room and clean out all the clutter, so this will be my chance.

We saw Young the Giant last night, they were awesome. If they ever come to a city near you make sure to go see them play. 

I have officially decided that the shamrock shake is awesome, but definitely a once a year thing...

The rain has been extremely persistent this week. I usually don't mind it to much during the work week since I'm stuck inside anyways in an office with no windows, it actually lends itself to some cozy weeknight evenings. I'm really hoping it dies down today though, because a rainy weekend will soggy my plans and I won't be a happy camper. So here's to crossing your fingers that we have a bright and sunny weekend!
