Lady Bug About Town

A special thanks to my mom today!

Last night she took me on a much needed girly shopping trip. We hightailed it out of work a bit early and headed straight to the mall for a bit of retail therapy. I love shopping...it's magical.

I found some great stuff, namely a black sweater dress from Banana Republic for a mere $12! Yep, I know, crazy! I can't wear it right now because with the humidity down here it feels like it's 200 degrees outside, but I'm going to keep it for the chilly nights about town.

However, my favorite purchase of the day was at MAC. I decided to jump on the bold lip bandwagon. Last night, with just 30 minutes before the mall closed, my mom and I were at MAC playing with all the pretty lip shades. Since the store was empty that sales girl had fun having us experiment with shades she hadn't seen on people before...I don't mind being a guinea pig to the professionals. In the end I ended up with these gorgeous colors:
I couldn't decide between the classic, bright red or the fun fuchsia. So I went with both! Ha Ha! I love shopping. OK, back to the lipsticks. I went with a red lipstick called Lady Bug. My original inspiration was Cupcakes and Cashmere's Ruby Woo lipstick, but it was just a bit to matte for my skin tone. So I went with Lady bug which is a bit creamier. For the bright pink, Girl About Town was my favorite shade.
I plan on rocking these this weekend! Pics to come on my journey to being a lipstick girl.
Happy shopping!
